Things To Do In The Area
The southern Costa Blanca (or "White Coast" - as the name means), has an average of 320 days a year of sunshine and maintains an average year round temperature of 24°C. According to the
World Health Organisation the area has the "healthiest climate in the world". This is caused by the combination of constant year round warm temperatures and the two huge salt lakes rich in minerals of "Laguna
de la Mata" (now a conservation area) and the "Salina de San Miguel" that surround Torrevieja. The natural salt lakes dry the air, therefore reducing humidity and producing a healthy atmosphere beneficial
for people who suffer with chest problems, arthritis, rheumatism etc. These lakes are also home to a host of wildlife including large flocks of flamingos.
The Villamartin area is located on the Orihuela Costa and is built around one of the most prestigious golf courses in the Spain. It has all the amenities you would expect to find at such a
resort, with panoramic views of the Mediterranean.
For those not interested in golf, the beautiful sandy beaches and the warm waters of the Mediterranean are only ten minutes drive away. The beaches of the Costa Blanca are plentiful and diverse
ranging from isolated coves for secluded sunbathing to vibrant beaches full of life with beach bars and restaurants. Here you will find all kinds of water sports including paragliding, diving, wind surfing,
jet skiing, sailing and fishing.

Driving Distance:
3 x golf courses (Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Campoamor) are just 5 mins away whilst less than 20 minutes finds La Finca and Cuidad Quesada golf courses. The famous Villamartin Plaza which
comes alive at night for fabulous eating and drinking, the beautiful and sandy blue flag beaches of the La Zenia coast are just ten minutes away. Activities also being close by include horseriding,
go-karting, water park, shopping mall, Torrevieja with marina, promenade, evening market stalls & further bars / restaurants (especially at Cabo Roig) - if there isn't enough locally!!
A little further afield you will find that Guardamar, Alicante, Cartagena and Murcia are all within easy driving distances if you fancy a day out in the cities, whilst Benidorm, the Terra Mitica
theme park and Mundomar Sea and Wildlife Centre are around 1½ hours leisurely drive along the coast.
The nearest airports to your holiday home will be Alicante 40 mins and Murcia (San Javier) 30 mins.
